Virginia is located in the center of Cass County and serves as the county seat, hosting the Cass County Courthouse on their town square.  Each summer in early June, the city hosts the Virginia BBQ, which includes fun events like a 5K and a parade, as well as rides, games, entertainment, and excellent food.  You can eat in town at The Depot, McCausland's IGA, Subway, Casey's, FastStop, or TO's Pizza.  Major employer Cass Communications makes its home in Virginia, as does Precision Tank and Equipment, a tank manufacturer.  The Rexroat Prairie preserves a part of Illinois' pioneer and natural history and hosts Log Cabin Days in October.
